The Respiratory and Medical Surveillance requirements of the new California Aerosol Transmissible Disease (ATD) regulation (CCR Title 8 Section 5199, http://www.dir.ca.gov/title8/5199.html) will become effective on September 1, 2010.

Select Agent Regulation Proposed Rulemaking

August 11, 2010

The US HHS and USDA published an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking on July 21, 2010.  Comments will be considered if received before August 20, 2010.  Changes to the regulation may include the addition and/or removal of agents/toxins and the potential addition of a teiring process based on risk for agents/toxins.  The proposed rulemaking can be viewed via the government printing office here: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2010/pdf/2010-17728.pdf and http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2010/pdf/2010-18581.pdf
